Creating Sales Opportunities and Managing Customers

How to create a new sales opportunity, link it to the right customer, and segment customers across ENTERPRISE / BFSI / GOV / SMB.

1. What is the Sales module?

The Sales module is a CRM that tracks the entire deal pipeline — from opportunity discovery to contract signing. Each opportunity is linked to a specific customer and progresses through consulting, quotation, negotiation, and signing.

2. Two core entities: Customer vs. Opportunity

  • Customer (kinh_doanh_customer) — A potential or existing customer organization. One customer can have many opportunities over time.
  • Opportunity (kinh_doanh_hoat_dong) — A specific deal you are pursuing.

This separation lets you preserve a multi-year deal history per customer.

3. Create a new customer

  1. Go to the Customers menu → Create.
  2. Fill in organization name, tax code, address, and primary contact.
  3. Pick the appropriate customer segment (see section 4).
  4. Save.

4. Four standard customer segments

Segment Audience
ENTERPRISE Large private enterprises, conglomerates.
BFSI Banking, Financial Services, Insurance — typically heavy on compliance.
GOV Government agencies, local authorities — complex tendering.
SMB Small and medium businesses — quick decisions, tighter budgets.

5. Create a new sales opportunity

  1. Go to the Opportunities menu → Create.
  2. Pick an existing customer (or create one inline).
  3. Use a clear opportunity name (e.g., "AI chatbot rollout for VPB Q2/2026").
  4. Set the initial stage — usually S1 — Qualification.
  5. Fill in quantitative fields: expected contract value, priority, difficulty.
  6. Assign the sales owner, sales AM, and tech lead.
  7. Save and start tracking.
